Advantages Of Booking Luxury Vacations Early

Author: admin  //  Category: luxury vacation

Chances are, travelers who have spoken to travel agents about booking luxury vacations often hear the travel agent mantra of “book early.” With myths of last minute deals and other types of discounts, travelers are often confused about “how soon is too soon” and what is available to travelers who want to book early. Here are a few of the advantages of booking luxury travel early.

Better Availability

When you book a luxury travel vacation early, you have the first shot at getting the best category. From flights to hotels, this can really make or break the mood of your vacation, especially if it is a special occasion such as a honeymoon. You are also the first travelers to be granted requests such as a non-smoking room, king size bed, “roll aways” and such. Hotels and cruise lines will also go in order of booking date when they are offering free upgrades and extra amenities. And of course, if you have your heart set on a specific hotel, resort or cruise ship, the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting to stay where you want.

Early Booking Discounts and Incentives

Most hotels, resorts, cruise lines and tour companies will offer special deals on luxury vacations that are booked early. These early booking discounts or incentives will really save you money. They are usually available through your local travel agent from September to the end of October. Make sure to pay special attention to when your reservation must be paid in full, as most specials will require an earlier final payment date.

When to Book

The beginning of the travel business year is September, after most clients return from high season summer vacations and luxury world cruises. This is the best time to see what is available for the upcoming year. However, pricing becomes available ten months before departure date. Once the ten months has begun, start checking prices and come to a decision about seven to six months out. If you are traveling for a special occasion, or somewhere exotic, make your plans no later than nine months out. Although there are a lot of last minute deals available, they are usually very restrictive. If this is your once a year big trip, you do not want to trust it to the limitations of last minute deals, and especially not if this is for honeymoon and wedding travel. There are just too many things that could go wrong for something as momentous and important as such events!

Booking a luxury travel vacation should be booked early for so many reasons. First, there will be better availability for the vacation you are considering, and you will be first in line to get upgrades and extra amenities. You also can take advantage of early booking discounts. By knowing when to book, you can save yourself the hassle of second-guessing or considering too good to be true last minute deals. Booking early gives travelers the advantage of being secure in their travel plans.

A Luxury Vacation in Egypt, Cairo and the Nile: The Holiday of Kings

Author: admin  //  Category: luxury vacation

Imagine a luxury vacation in Egypt, from the Nile to the Pyramids, from Cairo to the Valley of the Kings; there can be few places on earth with a history and culture as rich, as diverse, as fascinating and as utterly mysterious as that of ancient Egypt. The fact that so much of Egypt’s long and richly patterned past is still very much in evidence today is testament to the extraordinary ingenuity, determination and passion of the peoples in whose dusty footsteps we can still walk today.

The trouble with Egypt as a vacation destination is that there is just so much to see and enjoy, with so many incredible wonders, that it can be very hard to know how to fit enough into your time to see as much of this country’s heritage as possible, without spending significant chunks of your time traveling between them. For this reason, it is highly advisable to spend a little extra and book yourself a qualified guide, who will be able to help maximize your time, and ensure that you spend as much of your precious holiday time as possible enjoying the many feasts on offer.

One of the main places you will undoubtedly wish to visit is the famous city of Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and the largest city in Africa. Known as either ‘the city that never sleeps’, or ‘the city of thousand minarets’ (a minaret being a tall column with an onion shaped dome or crown), Cairo has a wealth of history to offer, whilst at the same time offering a modern vibrancy. It is also permanent home of the celebrated Tutankhamun exhibition: the celebrated boy king whose tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter and the infamous ‘curse of the mummies’ was born.

As well as being home to many celebrated galleries, and with the city divided into sections, including old Cairo and the Islamic borough, it is also home to two of the world’s most famous and easily recognized landmarks, quite apart from also being amongst the world’s oldest landmarks. These are, of course, the Sphinx and the Pyramids.

No holiday to Egypt could be considered complete without taking time to gaze into the eyes of the Sphinx, and gaze into thousands of years of history as you watch the sun rise above the huge, seemingly eternal pyramids.

Of course, although Cairo is home to several of these huge and mysterious structures, there are many more across the country. In fact, there are 138 known Egyptian pyramids in total, with the most famous of all being the Great Pyramid of Giza. This is the largest of them all, and at over 140 meters in height, it is hardly surprising that this structure took twenty years to complete. The pyramid at Giza was the tallest manmade structure in the world for 3,800 years – only being beaten by Lincoln Cathedral in the 16th century.

Another place which you must try to visit is Luxor, although this remarkable place is more like an open-air museum than a city. Here you will find museums, galleries, tombs, shrines, monuments and temples, all of which lead down to the River Nile alongside which the city grew up. In fact, the Nile divides the city into two, the Luxor of the east and that of the west, known as the City of the Living, and the City of the Dead respectively. This is in recognition of the sun rising on one side, and setting on the other. Even the name ‘Luxor’ is beautifully poetic in its charm – meaning ‘City of Palaces’.

Again, you will undoubtedly benefit from a guide, and possibly hired transport too, in order to appreciate the wealth of history, culture and mythology here, including the Colossi of Memnon, twin statues each 60 feet high, guarding the entrance to a temple now long gone to return to the sands from which it was born. After witnessing such triumphs, and appreciating the fine art and ingenuity displayed in the Luxor Temple, it will be time to journey on to witness another marvel of Egyptian legend – the Valley of the Kings.

The Valley of Kings, a World Heritage Site, is a monument to the legendary kings of Egypt from the period of the 16th to the 11th century BC. It was here that the rulers were buried, along with their treasures. It is astonishing, but because of the incredible scale of the area, more tombs are still being found, with three new tombs discovered since 2005. From simple tombs to labyrinthine mazes, the decorations, pictures, inscriptions and carvings make this an awe inspiring place to visit.

With one of the oldest cities in the world, Memphis, and Alexandria also nearby, a holiday in Egypt and Cairo will find you constantly astonished and awe struck. From the mighty river Nile, the life blood of Egypt, to the treasures of Cairo, this is a holiday which needs planning and organization, and if you can possibly find a good guide, your time, and your memories, will most certainly benefit.…

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Disney World Luxury Vacation

Author: admin  //  Category: luxury vacation

One of the most popular destinations for luxury vacation travelers making a stop in the United States is Disney World. Deemed the happiest place on earth, Disney World has become popular with travelers of all ages. Unfortunately, many people fear the Disney World experience after hearing horror stories about long lines, incredible heat and humidity, and packed hotels. But you can get the most out of your Disney World vacation by doing your best to beat the crowds and by spending your money wisely.

Beating the Crowds

As one of the most popular places to visit, Disney World is often crowded. With an average park occupancy rate of 75%, travelers on a luxury travel vacation will be hard pressed to find something without a wait or line. The first thing you can do is avoid going at high season. High season is any time children will be out of school, meaning summer, winter breaks, Thanksgiving, and Easter/spring break. The lowest attendance can be found in January after New Year’s. Also, try and arrive on a Thursday. Most travelers will arrive Friday and Saturday, and almost no one goes into the parks the first day. That means Thursday arrivals can spend all day Friday and Saturday in the parks while everyone else is arriving or leaving.

Spending Your Money Wisely

The first question posed to travelers on Disney World luxury vacations is, “Do you want to stay at a Disney-run property.” This is often the best way to go. There are several levels of hotels. You can stay in a budget hotel, a deluxe hotel or a luxury hotel. The prices are comparable to other nearby accommodations, as long as they are within the same category. Plus, you get a number of perks by staying in the Disney Resort, such as extra morning and evening magic hours at selected parks, guaranteed admission to the park, quick access to the parks via motor coach, monorail, or water taxis, special Disney events, free shuttle from airport, Disney trained “Cast Members” available to answer your questions about the park. Also, don’t over spend on tickets. If you are going to the resorts for seven nights, you will probably not need a seven day pass because you won’t get to the parks until the second day. Don’t waste your money on the no expiration date option. As for overpriced Disney merchandise, you can find amazing deals at the local outlets, at the nearby outlet mall, or at the local Wal-Mart, Target or Kmart.

These simple tips can really make all the difference on a Disney World luxury travel vacation. Beat the crowds as best you can, but understand that even if you succeed, Disney World’s version of “low attendance” is about 40% capacity. A Disney World vacation can be costly, the trick is to get more bang for your buck. So, if Disney World is where you’re headed, get the most out of your time and money!
